MCEisbommi || Deine Mudda kommt aus Berlin - Official Version

I don't understand much German but this song is quite catchy. I hope the lyrics are acceptable to the multitude of German Ukulele Club members. What is this song about?

Berkeley Ukulele Club Visitors from German & Nevada Ukulele Clubs

Tonight we had two guests attend our regular ukulele club meeting as well as get up on stage and perform a little. Chuck Lawrence came from the Nevada Ukulele Club sporting a DaSilva replica 1800's ukulele and Stephanie is a member of the German Ukulele Club (Queequeg in the forums). It's becoming clear that one of the great advantages of ukulele playing is it's ease of travel. The picture above has two BUC pillars: Steven Strauss (left) and Michael DaSilva (right) and then Chuck (inner left) and Stephanie (inner right).

Chuck played and sang a blues song imagining a toddler's concept of the blues.
Stephanie sang and played a song with some new barred chords for us...
C#m = 6444, A = 6454, E = 4447, G = 5343 (repeat)

Uketeufel || Conversation to Marina || Germany

Raimund, a.k.a. Uketeufel, has been an international uke friend of mine for a few years. Before I decided to share on this blog I used to e-mail out whatever I found in the uke world to a short list of friends. It has been a long time now and I forget the original circumstance of our meeting. Raimund is active with the German Ukulele Club. There was a section called news from Jnoteast in their bulletin board.

.
I liked this video because it is in an office setting but it also has ukuleles hanging on the walls. There are several other videos that show off a full-sized Sponge Bob playing the Ukulele poster. I had bought a large box of sheet music from 1890 to about 1950 from the Ohlone College Flea Market in Fremont, CA. And it the bottom of the box I found an old letter.
.
The letter was so old that it predated stamps. It originally had a wax seal but I found it flat between two pieces of thick plastic trying to preserve the letter. I could tell the writing was German and inquired if Raimund could help me. He was glad too. I scanned the letter and sent it to him.
.
Turns out the writing was in old German and a bit scribbly at times... but it was written in the middle of the Franco-Prussian war by a German Soldier. Raimund posted the letter on the German Ukulele Club bulletin board and requested help with the translation. (MORE TO FOLLOW...)

GERMAN UKULELE CLUB

Check out these ukes from Minne-so-ta
..^..

I have been communicating with Raimund S., known as Uketeufel, on the German Ukulele Club for a few years now. Click the title above to go directly to GUC main page. I have found that page a bit difficult to decipher even when I click the English language tab and I'm hoping that it's just a missing cookie on my computer. Uketeufel is a moderator of the site and we used to communicate quite regularly via e-mail. I also sent him a Ukulele Club of Santa Cruz calendar a couple of years back.
.
Well, as you know, I am fairly naturally chatty person, seems a blog is a good place for a person with my shy disposition, and I would bore all of my ukulele-playing-friends and some other friends too with the latest YT videos of the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain or Bosko & Honey's sappiest duets via e-mail. He created a separate section on their site just for my pre-HumbleUker Rambling ramblings. You can see some of that early stuff here.

I have also been in the chat room and always find a person or two that's willing to communicate in English. Their site is quite meticulously organized and well worth checking out. HU
