So many familiar faces in the Sons of the Beach group. How much ukulele fun can you have in Santa Cruz? Last weekend was the First Annual Ukulele Picnic (created by Jay and Robbie) and every Saturday and Wednesday the Sons of the Beach get together at the Crow's nest. And the upcoming BURNING UKE CAMP OUT in Plaskett Creek, Bir Sur Coastline is quickly approaching!

Sophisticated Blues with Jazz Ukulele Chords
Get your ukulele to cry out with some jazzy blues sounds. With just a few, easy-to-make jazz chords and patterns, you’ll learn how jazz players create that cool groove when they get together to jam. These hip jazz blues chords and patterns are fun to play and jam on, and have a more sophisticated sound than the usual three-chord blues. Get new rhythm ideas for the jazz blues too.
The ability to play simple bar chords or be willing to try is all that is necessary for this workshop.
Glen Rose is a professional jazz musician and college music teacher with four popular jazz ukulele books published. He leads his “Jazzy Ukulele” workshops around the West Coast and is sponsored by Riptide Ukulele.

Glen Rose is a professional jazz musician, college music teacher and author of three Jazzy Ukulele books. He will show tips on useful jazz patterns and jazz chords that professional jazz players use. Santa Cruz Favorite "Beer Run"

a car and key and a sober driver.

A couple of frat guys from Abilene
drove out all night to see Robert Earl
Keenat the KPIG Swine and Sworea Dance.

They wore baseball caps and khaki pants.
They wanted cigarettes, so to save a little money
they bought one off this hippie that smelled kinda funny.
And next thing they knew they were both pretty hungry and pretty thirsty too

They found a store with a sign that said
their beer was coldest.
So they sent in Brad 'cause he looked the oldest.
He got a case of beer and a candy bar,
walked over to where all the registers are
laid his fake I.D. on the counter top.
The clerk looked, and turned to look back up and stopped.
He said "Son, I ain't gonna call the cops,
but I'm gonna have to keep this card"
the guys both took it pretty hard.

They made it back up front to their seats just in time
to they could sing with all their friends
"the road goes on foreverand the party never ends".
