I wanted to create this blog as a place where I can store and retrieve information for future reference. I chose the name Humble Uker Ramblings because I have started out strumming my father's 1950's painted Harmony ukulele. I think that the greatest appeal of the ukulele as "the people's instrument" is it's humble simplicity. My contact email is HumbleUker@gmail.com. I have also been working on a blog for the Baritone Ukulele called Humble Baritonics.

ALISTAIR WOOD BLUES UKULELE
ALISTAIR WOOD BLUES UKULELE
Al is on TOP of everything ukululu on the internet. Sometimes I post a partial and plan to come back and expound on a video. Al, is another e-friend, someone I've never met but shared e-mails and enjoyed his labours (English for labor) and gifts to the community. And he was thanking me for the post within about an hour of it's posting. I know he spends quite a bit of time each day, searching, getting e-mails from all over the world, and providing top notch quality information out for us all to enjoy.
ALISTAIR THIS IS MY BIG THANK YOU!
I really like your JUMP BLUES on p.18 of the Blues Ukulele Book

I hadn't seen this one of Al's Blues Ukulele videos before. I need to read more of his Blues Ukulele Book - It looks like a lot of fun. I have been thinking about my new friend, Judy Plicka, who it turns out, taught at my high school starting the year after I graduated. Judy, has been playing in bands for 37 years. She's got the skills and techniques to turn an average band into a good sounding band with her fingerpicking out melodies in a moments notice. Judy has a handicap that affects her right hand and she has adapted her finger picking to work around it. I woulda never known.
Judy has her father going in for heart surgery next Wednesday and has asked for the following:

ALISTAIR WOOD - How to Play Ukulele - Blues Uke
http://ukulelehunt.com/
Alistair must be the most prolific proponent of the ukulele in the world. I have been a junkie for ukulele information for the last 2-and-a-half-years. (This blog is my place to keep my findings for my future reference for sharing with local ukeclub members and other enthusiasts.) Al has shared so much with me and I am always impressed with his enthusiasm, knowledge and competency to create nicely published ukulele ebooks at really low prices.
His new book is How to Play Blues Ukulele. It is $15 until the end of October, and $17 thereafter. After paying for the book it is emailed to you and you can print it out immediately! It comes with (80) mp3’s and (4) backing tracks to play along with!
Al also says he has a SECRET project but since he’s posted it on the internet, somehow, the secret has slipped out…
“I've already been working away on my next ukulele project. This one is going to be a little different I've been putting together a collaboration with tabs and arrangements from a bunch of people. It's early days yet and I don't want to jinx it, but I'll throw caution to the wind and let you in on who else is involved so far: James Hill, Mark Kailana Nelson and Dominator. Best of all, the proceeds from it will be going to Ukuleles for Peace. And that's all I'm saying for now. Lips sealed.”
