I wanted to create this blog as a place where I can store and retrieve information for future reference. I chose the name Humble Uker Ramblings because I have started out strumming my father's 1950's painted Harmony ukulele. I think that the greatest appeal of the ukulele as "the people's instrument" is it's humble simplicity. My contact email is HumbleUker@gmail.com. This is so much fun, Jeff. And so well done that I thought it was an actual clip from the period. But Ondrej Havelka and His Melody Makers are a modern band playing the old songs. I've seen a photo of Ondrej, the hapless, would-be lover in the clip, holding a uke, so there is a connection to the instrument after all. Of course, I'm whistling Blue Moon as I sit here typing this. And thinking, "Hello..."
