Stan & Vince || Ukulele Club of Santa Cruz Regents

I have the great pleasure of knowing both of these Ukulele Club of Santa Cruz stalwarts. They are great players and club favorites. Stan is the fingerpicking melody meister and Vince is the gold throated singer of masters Nelson and Prine. If you live within 100 miles of Santa Cruz you should really treat yourself to the UCSC experience at least once.

Here's Eileen S's video of the World Record attempt for the largest ukulele gathering. It starts off with a portion of the Santa Cruz contingent loading up on the bus. Andy Andrews leads the show. While Ukulele Dick and Jayme Kelly Curtis get some great footage. We also get to Uni and her Ukulele. Perhaps you're in the footage too -- who knows? Eileen is a percussionist with the Son's of the Beach in Santa Cruz. The Mighty Uke film was also shown and you hear Andy call it the greatest ukulele film ever.

According to the Ukulele Club of Santa Cruz monthly meeting notice... Steven Strauss will be performing at the Ukulele Club of Santa Cruz (Bocci's Cellar) on THURSDAY September 23, 2010. If you've never been to the UCSC before, then come get edumacated! If you haven't heard Steven Strauss before, get out of the bakery and get cookin' over to the club. I have posted about Steven many times here on HU and linked to him on several YT videos if you can't make it from Eastern Bulgaria or Southern Argentina, but if your local or are from Lancaster, California or closer come and listen.
