I wanted to create this blog as a place where I can store and retrieve information for future reference. I chose the name Humble Uker Ramblings because I have started out strumming my father's 1950's painted Harmony ukulele. I think that the greatest appeal of the ukulele as "the people's instrument" is it's humble simplicity. My contact email is HumbleUker@gmail.com. I have also been working on a blog for the Baritone Ukulele called Humble Baritonics.

Lil' Rev Anounces his partnership with Kala Ukuleles
Lil' Rev has been one of my favorite ukulele players because of his energy, wit, and skill. He is a multi-instrumentalist but tours around the country with his ukulele. I have ALL of his beginner's books and I'm looking forward to two more coming out. One is a songbook of Lil' Rev's music and the second is called 101 Licks for the Ukulele. Here's some news from Lil' Rev...
.
Lil' Rev and Kala have teamed up to present a traveling workshop for absolute beginners, called: Uke Can Too, which will teach basic strumming, two chord songs, silly tricks and much more! As Lil Rev tours extensively around the U.S.
.
He is often asked if he has a workshop for absolute beginners and this is his answer to that question. Thanks to Kala, for providing 24 Thin Body Travel Ukes to Lil Rev so he can now accommodate up to 24 students. The best part of this deal for those looking to get started on the ukulele and see if they like it, is that Kala and Local Music Stores will be underwriting the cost of this workshop and newcomers will be treated to a free 90 minute workshop, that's right free! So watch to see if Lil Rev is coming to your town to teach his Uke Can Too workshop.
.
As many of you know, Lil Rev is the author of the Hal Leonard Method Book Series and is a former Grade School Music Teacher and College Lecturer with extensive experience working with both kids and adults. His approach is fun, educational and enthusiastic, making him a much sought after teacher and performer on the international ukulele circuit.
