Herman Vandecauter & Paulien || The nightingale

Recently I have felt that many of the YT videos speak for themselves. Herman is a master and teacher. This is a beautiful classical piece.

Armelle || Ukulele & Languages

Armelle has a blog called Ukuleles & Languages. She is living in France and enjoys speaking in various languages and the playing the ukulele. I was checking out her YouTube channel again and noticed that one of her goals do a project gathering ukulele songs in as many languages as possible. Perhaps you know of a song that you can share with her...
.
You can check the videos she has gathered so far on her blog: http://ukulelelanguages.com/
.

Armelle comments... Herman visited me and set himself a double challenge : play Tico Tico that he had just freshly arranged for the guitar and teach two ukers to strum along. All this in one afternoon... Read about it here: http://ukulelelanguages.com/ukulele-languages/herman-vandecauter-in-burgundy/ Herman told us afterwards that he didn't really think we would manage... But he can work miracles: even though we all made some strumos (typos applied to string instruments) all in all the result could have been much worse.

[Ah yes, Big-B burgundy, is a city! I was thinking the color.]

BELGIUM || Herman Vandecauter || Learn the Fretboard

HERMAN'S FRETBOARD MEMORIZATION

I am not sure why Herman found this pattern helpful. I suppose on the standard re-entrant tuning we are using the low C as our lowest note in the scale. So he starts with the C to get the most range and therefore we start with the 3rd string, followed by the 2nd and then the 1st. The notes on the 4th string are the same as the 1st string but two frets UP towards the sound hole.

NOTE---------3rd---2nd---1st----(4th)
C-------do-----0-----8------3-----(5)
D-------re-----2-----10-----5-----(7)
E-------mi-----4-----0------7-----(9)
F-------fa-----5------1------8-----(10)
G-------sol----7------3-----10----(12 or 0)
A-------la-----9------5-----0------(2)
B-------ti-----11-----7------2-----(4)

Herman is definitely a classically trained musician. Here's some beautiful music and graceful hands. Thank you Herman for a little lesson. HU

BELGIUM || Herman Vandecauter || Classical Style Ukulele

Very smooth classical style ukulele playing...

The first song has fingering on the g-string which reminds me of Gensblue's walking bass.

Peaceful...
