Salongfestivalen 2010 HALVSØSTRA - "Synonymordboka"

HALF SISTERS - Synonym Word Book

honorsongs || Undone || Original Folk Song and More

Sometimes, I think these videos speak for themselves. But every once in a while you feel that you have stumbled on something very creative, deep and tender. I had just posted ErinBev on Humble Baritonics and this name from her friends, "honorsongs", grabbed me. This woman, Honor Finnegan, has such a lovely voice and a freshness to her music that is so uncommercial and folksy. Undone was the first song that I checked out on her YT channel which she has named, Songs in My Pajamas.

Lew Dite Folkster

I have my musical ups and downs. I wish I kept playing my violin in 3rd grade because my Humble Uker musical progress is quite slow. Now I always appreciate simple music that is played well. My e-buddy Todd (a.k.a. Brother Sonny) has been a favorite of mine for quite some time and he plays simple folk music so "sweetly."
.
These simple songs sound great when played with experienced hands and confident soulful voices. I also think it's the simplest turnarounds and fills that add that touch of spice which brings songs to a fuller life. I have asked Todd for some direction and he directed me to Lew Dite who plays several instruments and has provided a Smithsonianesque collection of folk music on his YouTube channels.
.
He has a SONGCREEN CHANNEL which gives a karaoke style scroll screen with the chords embedded, here...
.
.
Take a listen to this old gem...

.

Here's another I like because it talks about going to New Orleans, and he yodels! The lyrics of this song are so full of flavor. "If love was liquor, and I could drink, I'd be drunk all the time."
