Lew Dite Folkster

I have my musical ups and downs. I wish I kept playing my violin in 3rd grade because my Humble Uker musical progress is quite slow. Now I always appreciate simple music that is played well. My e-buddy Todd (a.k.a. Brother Sonny) has been a favorite of mine for quite some time and he plays simple folk music so "sweetly."
.
These simple songs sound great when played with experienced hands and confident soulful voices. I also think it's the simplest turnarounds and fills that add that touch of spice which brings songs to a fuller life. I have asked Todd for some direction and he directed me to Lew Dite who plays several instruments and has provided a Smithsonianesque collection of folk music on his YouTube channels.
.
He has a SONGCREEN CHANNEL which gives a karaoke style scroll screen with the chords embedded, here...
.
.
Take a listen to this old gem...

.

Here's another I like because it talks about going to New Orleans, and he yodels! The lyrics of this song are so full of flavor. "If love was liquor, and I could drink, I'd be drunk all the time."

I also added LewDite's FOLK SONGS to my Ukulinkies Music List

  1. This is Humble Uker commenting. This Lew Dite has played and sang so many folksy and traditional songs. He's provided lyrics to so many of them. WHAT A GIFT. Now I know what Todd was talking about. I really want to mention Lew Dite as a GENEROUS SPIRIT to the musical world. The time and effort he has shared deserves a MIGHTY YODELAYLE & GEE HOWDY!
