A Humble Uker Sing-a-long Favorite!
I wanted to create this blog as a place where I can store and retrieve information for future reference. I chose the name Humble Uker Ramblings because I have started out strumming my father's 1950's painted Harmony ukulele. I think that the greatest appeal of the ukulele as "the people's instrument" is it's humble simplicity. My contact email is HumbleUker@gmail.com. I have also been working on a blog for the Baritone Ukulele called Humble Baritonics.

Casetone2514's version of Stray Cat Strut
Here's another version of one of my favorites. I have been torturing ears for quite some time on this one. But, I just can't stop myself - it has become an addiction. Well done Casetone!
Hey, just checked out Casetone's YT Channel and found this song with Krabbers, Ken Middleton, and Unlucky Mum. Here's Man of Constant Sorrow...
I need to watch more Krabbers originals!

Promised STRAY CAT STRUT Arrangement
When I did a post about songs for a small uke gathering I said I'd post this song later...
.
STRAY CAT STRUT – Stray Cats (Rockabilly)
AH Foooeey Google Blogger, my buddy, screwed up all of the chord alignments! I'll be getting back to this to make it clearer soon.
.
Am G / F E7 / Am G / F E7 /
.
Am G / F E7 / Am G / F E7 / (2X)
Ooo ooo ooo ooo Ooo ooo ooo ooo
.
Am G F E7 -------------------------------- /Am G / F E7 /
Black and orange stray cat sittin’ on a fence.
Am G F E7 -------------------------------- /Am G / F E7 /
Ain’t got enough dough to pay the rent.
Am G F E7
I’m flat broke but I don’t care.
Am [STOP]
I STRUT right by with my tail in the air.
Dm C Bb A7
Stray cat strut, I am a ladies cat.
Dm C Bb A7
I’m a feline Casa-nova, hey man that’s that.
Dm C Bb A7
Get a shoe thrown at me from a mean old man.
Dm [STOP]
GET my dinner from a garbage can.
. (Yeah, don’t cross my path)
[INSTRUMENTAL] Am G F E7 (4X Solo)
.
[BRIDGE] Dm Am
I don’t bother chasin’ mice around (Oh, No!)
Dm
I strut down the alley lookin’ for a fight
B7 E7
Howlin’ to the moonlight on a hot summer night.
.
Am G F E7
Singin’ the blues while the lady cats cry
Am G F E7
Wow, stray cat, you’re a real gone guy.
Am G F E7
I wish I could be as carefree and wild.
Am [STOP]
But I’ve GOT cat class and I’ve got cat style.
[INSTRUMENTAL] Am G F E7 (4X)
REPEAT [BRIDGE] and then LAST VERSE.
[INSTRUMENTAL] Am G F E7 (4X) To Fade Out
.
.
Note: the original is in Cm and a lot more Brian Setzer-ish.
