I wanted to create this blog as a place where I can store and retrieve information for future reference. I chose the name Humble Uker Ramblings because I have started out strumming my father's 1950's painted Harmony ukulele. I think that the greatest appeal of the ukulele as "the people's instrument" is it's humble simplicity. My contact email is HumbleUker@gmail.com. Well, you know how I feel about Joao, Jeff. When I grow up I want to play ukulele like he does, and play a ukulele like he does.
Now for the fun stuff. Readers might be interested to know that Joao has a second life as an electric uker in Second Life. Videos of this are available to watch. Only, in his other life as he plays his electric ukulele and produces his jazzy sounds, he plays a mandolin -yes, he plays a mandolin. Watching his cyberlife videos does have its pleasures, though.
