Here's a guitar / ukulele duet of Jeff Warren Johnston and Jessica 'Mustang' Graves that has plenty political incorrectness and lack of sensitivity put together loosely with the glue of humor. But these two jam quite well together. At the end of the video there are more out takes than you want to see but it shows that a collaboration takes quite a bit of effort and these mistakes are hurdles along the way to making good music. I'm constantly tripping over my personal hurdles.
I wanted to create this blog as a place where I can store and retrieve information for future reference. I chose the name Humble Uker Ramblings because I have started out strumming my father's 1950's painted Harmony ukulele. I think that the greatest appeal of the ukulele as "the people's instrument" is it's humble simplicity. My contact email is HumbleUker@gmail.com. I have also been working on a blog for the Baritone Ukulele called Humble Baritonics.
Oh, I don't know, I think I'd like to see some more outtakes. I've watched this so many times, I feel like I should go out and buy a cowboy hat & a pair of boots. Takes me back to the days when boys of my generation adored cowboys, couldn't get enough of them on the still new gadget, television. And of course, who could forget the little plastic crank-out-the-tunes guitar, as we tried to be little versions of our singing heros, all decked out in our Western finery.
